The emap Atlas is also available on a set of CD-ROMs.
These contain all of the browsers available here on the emap website but when they are run directly from the CDs, a network connection is not required for most of them (accessing the Theiler staging guide and the Anatomy Nomenclature Database does require a network connection however).
The CDs also contain the full 3D digital reconstruction files for each emap embryo model. These are not included on this website as they are large files and download would be extremely slow over the internet. The CDs also contain a program to install on your hard-drive called MAPaint which can be used to navigate through these full 3D digital embryo reconstructions to take virtual sections in ANY plane.
Please note that MAPaint requires a UNIX operating environment (ie. MacOSX, PC-Linux, Solaris or Irix).
