Original Digitised Histology for Theiler Stage 11 (E7.5)

The tissue sections were originally digitised at a pixel resolution of 0.68x0.68microns. For the voxel reconstruction each section image was subsampled by a factor of 3 to give a final voxel resolution of 2x2x2 microns so that the resulting reconstruction was approximately isotropic and therefore provides a more uniform view on re-sectioning. This inevitably loses some of the detail therefore we provide a viewer of the original section data. This view requires a Java enabled browser (e.g. Netscape and MS Internet Explorer) and has been tested on Solaris (unix), MS Windows (95/98/NT) and Mac. Move the section line using the mouse or arrow keys. The plane number reported on the view corresponds to the plane number reported in the SectionView application program. This popup window will disappear if you change this page therefore if you want to keep the section-browser visible and move top a new page, start up a new window within your html-browser.

Note: this embryo was cut from the "bottom" therefore the default view in SectionView of the original sections (X-Y plane) is the reflection of the digitised image. If you want to compare the images in detail then adjust the viewing controls in SectionView so you are looking "from the other side". This can be simply done by setting pitch to 180 degrees and adjusting yaw to suit.

If a button marked "Launch Section Chooser" has not appeared above then your bowser is not Java enabled or something else has gone wrong. Please report the problem to the Mouse Atlas team and use the simple text page option.
