Full installation instructions for the Java run-time environment are on the Sun site. Follow the link below and select "J2SE 5.0" or "J2SE 1.4.2". The emap java tools have been developed using version 1.4.2.

Download and install Java runtime.

Once installed your browser should automatically invoke Java WebStart when you click on one of the "start" links on the JavaTools page. If this does not work you need to link WebStart as a "helper" application. See your browser help pages for instructions.
