Notes:
The insert shows a section taken from this wholemount stained, dissected brain at the level shown. Image annotations: p1 & p2, prosomeres 1 & 2; m, mesencephalon. The tick marks on the wholemount show the boundaries between (from rostral to caudal) between p3/p2; p2/p1; p1/mesencephalon and mesencephalon/rhombomere 1.

mesencephalic vesicle
detected detected
regionalExpression detected in dorsal mesencephalon with a sharp mes/prosomere1 (p1) boundary.
rhombomere 01
detected detected
Expressed in a strip from rhombomere 1 caudal.

Notes:The Dbx1 (Dbx) probe used in this study by Mastick et al, 1997 [PMID:9169845] is described as being "synthesized from a cDNA fragment provided by S. Lu and F. Ruddle (Lu et al., 1992 [PMID:[1355604] ). Lu et al. in turn define the probe as transcribed from plasmid clone SAH2aSV which contains a "574-base-pair Sma 1-HindIII fragment that is 3' to the Dbx homeobox".
