StructureLevelPatternNotes
heart
detected detected
regionalProteins are expressed in cardiac myocytes.
head somite
weak weak
regionalProtein levels in the myotomes of somites are very low but detectable at the level of cervical somites, but absent in myotomes of more caudal somites.
gut
not detected not detected
The smooth muscle in the primitive gut between the neural tube and the heart does not stain positively with the antibody.

Type:antibody
Identifier:MGI:1927887
Entity Detected:Acta1, actin, alpha 1, skeletal muscle ( MGI:87902)
Notes:The anti-Acta1 antibody used in this study by Lyons et al., 1991 [PMID:1893870] was a "polyclonal, affinity-purified anti-alpha-actin antibody described earlier (Polzar, 1989 [PMID:2482181] )". All of the antisera described by Polzar et al were produced in rabbits. This antibody recognizes both skeletal and cardiac alpha-actins and crossreacts with vascular smooth muscle alpha-actin on frozen sections.
