Notes:The probe used in this study by Tremblay et al, 2001 [PMID:11566864] is indicated as being originally described by Jones et al, 1991 [PMID:1893873] ie. as "approx 1kb from the 5' region" that was made by "eliminating the 3' portion of the (1.6kb) cDNA, encoding the conserved TGFbeta region, by digestion with SmaI, and subsequent re-ligation". This eliminated region spans nt 1035-1749 of X56848.1. Personal communication from B.Hogan: This clone "contains 5' non-coding and 5' coding regions up to before the conserved region (does not contain the mature region)"
