Notes:The probe used by Furuta et al, 1997 [PMID:9187146] is defined as a " 1 kb fragment of Msx1 (generously provided by Dr Robert Hill; Hill et al., 1989 [PMID:2565278] ) ". Hill et al., 1989 describe two Msx1 (Hox-7.1) probes: "Probe 1, which represents the 3' half of the cDNA (and) contains a short stretch of the homeobox sequence" and "Probe 2, which comprises the 3' BssHII fragment and contains only material 3' to the homeobox". Unable to ascertain which of these probes was used here.
