Notes:The Irx1 probe used in this study by Ferguson et al., 2001 [PMID:11714685] is indicated as that originally described by Bosse et al., 1997 [PMID:9486539] , where "at least two different probes between 0.5-1.0 kb" that were "outside of the conserved Irx homeobox" were used which gave identical patterns. Editor's note: both probes are of undefined sequence and it is unclear which was used here.
