Notes:The anti-class-III beta-tubulin antisera used in this study by Erickson et al., 1997 [PMID:9362461] is described as "TUJ1 antibody (Lee et al, 1990 [PMID:2257630] ), (1:1000)". Lee et al, 1990 in turn describe TuJ1 as a "mouse monoclonal antibody" and state that "the TuJ1 secreting clone was isolated from hybrids produced by the fusion of SP2/0 myeloma cells with splenocytes of Balb/c mice immunized with taxol-assembled microtubules". They go on to say that using three independent methods, they have established that the antibody only binds to the tubulin beta-III C-terminus. Editor's Note: In another paper from 1990 by Lee et al [PMID:2402501] the authors specifically state that "TuJ1 reacts with an epitope located within the last 15 C-terminal residues (isotype-defining sequence)". The corresponding 15 amino acid epitope sequence is aa436 -aa 450 of NP_075768.1.
