The embryo used in this study by Machka et al., 2005 [PMID:15979417] is heterozygous for the Dll3pu gene. Mice carrying this pudgy mutation in the Dll3 gene have been described by Kusumi et al., 1998 [PMID:9662403] . Image annotations: Arrows point to segmented expression in dorsal root ganglia.
