Notes:The anti-CRABP1 antibody used in this study by Leonard et al., 1995 [PMID:7729586] is described as "an affinity-purified rabbit polyclonal antibody as previously described (Maden et al., 1992 [PMID:1351399] )". Maden et al 1992, state that the antibody was "raised against a synthetic peptide corresponding to bovine CRABP1", that the characteristics of this antibody were previously described by Eriksson et al, 1987 [PMID:2826496] and that it was also used previously as an immunocytochemical reagent in mouse embryos (Denckner et al, 1990 [PMID:1966832] ). Eriksson et al, 1987 generated antisera against three peptides: residues 68-81 (GEGFEEETVDGRKC); 81-94 (CRSLPTWENENKIH) and 95-103 (CTQTLLEGDGPKT) of bovine CRABP1. Denckner et al, 1990 used two of these in their studies (the two raised against residues "69-84 and 95-107 of bovine CRABP1" and state that they gave identical results. Editors Note: It is not clear which of these antisera have been used in the study by Leonard et al., 1995 [PMID:7729586] .
