Type: | in situ hybridisation probe |
Identifier: | MGI:2677434 |
Entity Detected: | Irx2, Iroquois related homeobox 2 (Drosophila) ( MGI:1197526) |
Notes: | NOTE: The authors refer to this gene as Irx6 however BLAST sequence comparison of the 'Irx6' sequence AF165986 mentioned in this paper against GenBank confirms that this gene is Irx2 and not Irx6.
The Irx2 probe used in this study by Cohen et al, 2000 [PMID:10704856] is described as being transcribed from "pIrx6, a 1.3 kb SalI fragment containing part of the ORF and the 3'UTR of Irx6 (i.e. Irx2)".
Editors Note: Restriction digestion of numerous Irx2 cDNA database sequences with SalI identifies a single site within the ORF. It is therefore assumed that the other SalI site is derived from linker/MCS sequence at the 3' end of the clone. Despite this, a 1.3kb fragment cannot be identifed from database searching and larger fragments are found (e.g. 1.7kb in NM_010574.2). The specific sequence of this probe is unclear from available information. |
