Annotation Validation: EMAGE Editor
Detection Reagent
Type:in situ hybridisation probe
Identifier:MGI:2155925
Entity Detected:Hoxa3, homeobox A3 ( MGI:96175)
Notes:The Hoxa3 probe used in this study by Watari et al., 2001 [PMID:11784044] is described as follows: "Hoxa3 antisense probe was transcribed from a HindIII-AatI fragment of Hoxa3 cDNA, which is 5' of the homeodomain-coding sequence." Editors note: Restriction site searching of the Hoxa3 RefSeq cDNA NM_010452.2 and other Hoxa3 sequences (e.g. Y11717.1) for HindIII and AatI sites finds only one potential HindIII/AatI fragment, which is only 45nt in length. It seems unlikely that a probe is this length was used - further information required to clarify.
