Notes:The Mkx (Irxl1) probe used in this study by Liu et al., 2006 [PMID:16426902] is described as follows: "A subcloned 620 bp RT-PCR product corresponding to the 3' half of the coding region and an expressed sequence tag matching the 3' untranslated region of the Irxl1 gene were used as templates for cRNA probe synthesis. Both probes detected identical Irxl1 mRNA expression patterns during mouse embryogenesis in both whole mount and section in situ hybridization assays."
