Notes:The anti-Kit antibody used in this study by Takakura et al, 1998 [PMID:9846489] is indicated as "ACK2, rat anti-mouse monoclonal" produced by Ogawa et al, 1991 [PMID:1711568] , as follows: "The hybridomas producing anti-c-kit mAb, ACK2 (IgG2b) was established from a rat immunized with IL3-dependent normal mast cells as follows: 1L-3-dependent mast cells were established from bone marrow cells of WB-+/+ and WB-W/W neonates as described by Nakano et al. [PMID:3794340] except that we used recombinant IL3 instead ofPWM-stimulated spleen cell conditioned medium. Twenty million cultured mast cells derived from a normal littermate were injected intravenously twice into a Wistar rat and then spleen cells were prepared for the fusion with the X63.653.Ag8 [PMID:2420716] . Antibody-producing hybridoma clones were selected on the basis of binding to normal but not W/W mouse derived IL-3-dependent mast cells". The antibody was a gift from Dr. S.-I. Nishikawa, Kyoto University, Kyoto, Japan.
