Notes:The Mecp2 probe used in this study by Pelka et al., 2005 [PMID:15780747] was "pGP14all", which "hybridizes to the 5' sequence of the coding region of the gene and will detect all types of transcript". It "detects the full transcript with all the coding exons and the Mecp2e1 isoform produced by the splicing of exon 2 [PMID:15034579] ". The 1.4kb template fragment was PCR amplified using 5'-GTAGCTGGGATGTTAGGGCTC-3' and 5'-CTGTCCACAGGCTCCTCTCT-3' and cloned into pGEM-T. Antisense probe was generated from NotI-linearized vector from the T7 RNA polymerase site.
