trunk somite
detected detected
Approximately 30 somites are stained and they appear as condensed rows in the rostral somites. At the junction of the forelimb bud, MEF-2A positive cells extend into the ventral region of the somites.
Annotation Validation: EMAGE Editor
Detection Reagent
Type:antibody
Identifier:MEF2A antibodyA
Entity Detected:Mef2a, myocyte enhancer factor 2A ( MGI:99532)
Notes:The anti-MEF2A antibody used in this study by Subramanian & Nadal-Ginard 1996 [PMID:8817457] , is a "rabbit polyclonal antisera specific for MEF2A, which was raised against a pGEX-GST bacterial fusion protein containing the C-terminal amino acids 272-507, according to standard procedures". Editors Note: The mouse MEF2A protein RefSeq NP_001028885.1 and numerous other older sequences for mouse MEF2A (XP_900414, XP_900415, XP_911259, XP_924714, XP_924721, XP_924731, XP_924736, XP_924747, XP_924755, XP_924763, XP_924774, XP_924781 and XP_924788) are all shorter than 507amino acids in lenth (average length is 498 amino acids). There are also multiple isoforms of mouse MEF2A (EDL07193, EDL07194, EDL07195, EDL07196, EDL07197), none of which are 507 amino acids in length. The exact region used as antigen is unclear.
