Notes:
Note: The +/+ in the image refers to collagen IV - this specimen shows staining for beta-gal in E10.5 a wild-type (i.e. Col4a1,Col4a2+/Col4a1,Col4a2+) embryos on a Anxa5+/LacZ background.

Entity Detected:Anxa5, annexin A5 ( MGI:106008)
Notes:Anxa5 expression was detected in this study by Poschl et al., 2004 [PMID:14998921] using the "Anxa5-lacZ transgene, which specifically detects perivascular cells". The Anxa5-lacZ fusion gene is described by Brachvogel et al., 2001 [PMID:11731255] and Brachvogel et al., 2003 [PMID:null] 12665588). Homologous recombination of targeting construct containing lacZ and neo replaced sequence encompassing a portion of exon 3, all of exon 4, and the murine endogenous retrovirus (MuERV) within intron 4 of the 129 genetic background. The lacZ sequence was fused in frame with the second start codon of exon 3, which is common to all known isoforms. While no full length transcripts were identified in homozygous mutant mice, aberrantly spliced truncated transcripts were detected, though no protein was detected by Western blot or immunohistochemical analysis.
