StructureLevelPatternNotes
neural tube
strong strong
regionalStrong expression is observed in the dorsal neural tube
trunk somite
strong strong
Strong expression is observed in the somites. During skeletal muscle development, boc is expressed at high levels in dermomyotomes and at significantly lower levels in myotomes, the mature central portions of which appear devoid of signal. (boc levels are highest in the dorsal lip of the dermomyotome)
limb
strong strong
Limb buds display robust expression of boc on E10.5.

Type:in situ hybridisation probe
Identifier:Boc probeA
Entity Detected:Boc, biregional cell adhesion molecule-related/down-regulated by oncogenes (Cdon) binding protein ( MGI:2151153)
Notes:The Boc probe used in this study by Kang et al., 2002 [PMID:11782431] is described as follows, "A mouse boc cDNA in pCMVSport6 (Life Technologies) was used to make a digoxigenin-labeled antisense riboprobe. Plasmid was linearized and antisense riboprobes comprising part of the second and all of the third FNIII repeat, the transmembrane and intracellular domains, and approx600 bp of 3'-untranslated region were synthesized with T7 RNA polymerase."
