Notes:The Notch2 (MotchB) probe used in this study by Williams et al., 1995 [PMID:8645602] is indicated as one of a number of "digoxigenin-labelled cRNA probes synthesised from cDNA fragments encoding all or part of the last seven EGF repeats and the three LN repeats of each of the mouse Notch genes (see Lardelli & Lendahl, 1993 [PMID:8440332] and Lardelli et al., 1994 [PMID:7918097] )". Editors note: Lardelli et al 1994 describe only a short oligonucleotide in situ probe to Notch2 (5'-CGT CTT GCT ATT CCT CTG GCA CTC AAA GTT GTC AAA CAG GCA CTC TGC -3'). Lardelli & Lendahl did not perform in situ hybridisations but describe a probe used for Southern blotting that was "PCR-amplified, approximately 1-kb-long fragment, comprising six EGF and two lin-12/Notch repeats, from the Motch B gene (see Fig 1B)". Fig 1 shows the region covered schematically, but the exact start and end points of this probe are not reported.
