Notes:The Cbs probe used in this study for whole-mount in situ hybridisations by Robert et al., 2003 [PMID:12588964] is stated as being "synthesized from previously described linearized template". Editors Note: This most probably refers to the description of the probe the authors used on sections, which is described as follows: "single-stranded RNA was synthesized from the NotI fragment of pBluescript, which contains the rat Cbs cDNA fragment (nucleotides 652-945), using T3 RNA polymerase as an antisense riboprobe.", and "A 350-bp cDNA fragment containing exons 5-8 of the Cbs gene was isolated from the rat Cbs orthologue (Swaroop et al. 1992 [PMID:1597473] ) ". The sequence of the rat (type 1 cDNA isoform) is shown in Fig 2 of Swaroop et al. and the accompanying M88344.1 GenBank entry, however the nucleotide numbering is different between the two and no NotI sites are found in these sequences. It is unclear from the published description which region the probe covers.
