Notes: | The Cryab (alphaB-crystallin) probe used in this study by Haynes et al., 1996 [PMID:8875078] is described as follows: "A plasmid clone containing a partial alphaB-crystallin cDNA was used in PCR reactions to generate probe templates for in situ hybridization as described by Li et ala, 1994 [PMID:8125186] . The primers used in the generation of the antisense probe template were oligonucleotide 1845 (5' -TAA TAC GAC TCA CTA TAG CTT CTT AGG GGC TGC GGC GAC AGC), which contains the T7 phage promoter and mouse alphaB-crystallin nucleotides +570 to +547, and 1846 (5' -GAC ATC GCC ATC CAC CAC CCC TGG), corresponding to alphaB-crystallin nucleotides +49 to +72. Each PCR reaction resulted in a 540 bp product which was gel-purified and used as a template for the synthesis of digoxigenin-substituted riboprobes."
