Notes:The Rncr2 (Gomafu) in situ probe used in this study by Sone et al., 2007 [PMID:17623775] was one of several possible: "To prepare probes specific for exon sequences of Gomafu, AK 053540 or AK028326 were used as templates. For intron probes, DNA fragments corresponding to the third and fourth introns were amplified by PCR using a BAC clone (RP23-290P20) as a template and the following primer sets: 5'-ACGGACTCTGAAGCCCACAT-3' and 5'-TAGCGCCAGGAACCCATTTG-3' for the third intron, 5'-TGGGGCGAGAAAATAGAGAC-3' and 5'-GTTACGTGAGGTGACAGGAC-3' for the fourth intron. The amplified fragments were subcloned into pCRII and used as templates." Editors Note: Presumably one of the exon-specific probes (i.e. those generated against either AK053540 or AK028326) were used in this assay, however this is not specified by the authors.
