Notes:Sox1 expression in this study by Ekonomou et al., 2005 [PMID:15882093] was assayed in embryos heterozygous for a targeted mutation whereby a betageo fusion protein was inserted in frame into the ORF. The targeted locus produced a fusion protein consisting of the first 50 amino acids from the endogenous protein, excluding the HMG box, followed by ten amino acids encoded by a synthetic linker sequence and the betageo sequence.
