Notes:
Some heterozygous pups (2/8 total runted pups) are severely runted with weights ~50% that of littermates at birth.

Entity Detected:Sulf2, sulfatase 2 ( MGI:1919293)
Notes:Sulf2 expression in this study by Lum et al., 2007 [PMID:17116694] was assayed in embryos heterozygous for a gene trap mutation whereby the pGT1TMpfs vector was inserted into intron 5. The resulting protein lacked the C-terminal 629 amino acids including the catalytic cysteine essential for sulfatase activity and a hydrophilic domain necessary for sulfatase activity and HS binding. Gene trap XST155, BayGenomics.
