Type:in situ reporter
Entity Detected:Tgfbr1, transforming growth factor, beta receptor I ( MGI:98728)
Notes:Tgfbr1 (Alk5) expression in this study by Seki et al., 2006 [PMID:16344855] was assayed in embryos heterozygous for a targeted reporter where a lacZ-neo and a copy of exon IV were inserted downstream of exon IV upon homologous recombination originally intended to replace exon III with the lacZ-neo. Exon 3 encodes the transmembrane domain. X-gal staining revealed the expression of lacZ in a variety of tissues and organs during embryonic development, and was especially strong in connective tissues surrounding developing skeletons.
