Notes:
The "Tie1-lacZ" embryos used as a control in this study are specified by the authors to be phenotypically normal. The construction of the mutated Tie1 allele is indicated as being described by Uyttendaele et al, 2001 [PMID:11344305] who in turn refer to Puri et al, 1995 [PMID:8846781] who refer to the allele as "Tie-lcz". It was constructed when a lacZ gene followed by a loxP-flanked neomycin selection cassette replaced coding sequences in the first coding exon such that the lacZ gene was expressed under the control of the endogenous promoter. Histochemical analysis confirmed that a beta-galactosidase protein was expressed from this allele.

Notes:The anti-Flt4(VEGFR3) antibody used in this study by Shawber et al., 2007 [PMID:17948123] is described as "antibody against VEGFR-3 (eBioscience)". Editors note: there are 3 possible anti-VEGFR3 antibodies available from eBiocience (http://www.ebioscience.com/): 14-5988, 16-5988 and 13-5988. All three are derived from the one clone (AFL4). Only one of the three (14-5988) has immunohistochemistry listed in its reported applications, therefore it has been assumed that 14-5988 is the one the authors used in this study.
