Notes:The Gprin1 (Grin1/Z-16) probe used in this study by Masuho et al., 2008 [PMID:18729205] was "prepared from pBS-GRIN1. For whole-mount ISH of GRIN1, pBS-GRIN1 linearized by Asp718 was transcribed with T7 RNA polymerase for antisense probes". pBS-GRIN1 was made by releasing a 3.6-kb mouse GRIN1 cDNA fragment from the pCMV5-GRIN1 expression vector (Chen et al.,1999 [PMID:10480904] ) by using KpnI and HindIII restriction enzymes and then cloning this fragment into KpnI-HindIII sites of pBluescriptII KS(-). Editors note: the 3.6kb fragment reported by Chen et al is AF146569.1. Asp718, KpnI and HindIII do not cut this sequence indicating the probe was transcribed from its entire length.
