regionalStrong labeling was observed over the ventral part of the neural tube where the just differentiating motor neurons reside and it extended throughout the hindbrain. As these signals were confined to the marginal zone of the neural tube, and since no signals were detected over the heavily-stained ventricular area, it was concluded that only postmitotic neural cells express the Sorl1 gene.

The template used to generate the digoxigenin probe is not described explicitly. Editors note: the nucleotide numbering refers to the accompanying GenBank submission AF031816, the ID of which is provided in the paper.
