Expression pattern clarity: three stars
Find spatially similar wholemount expression patterns: Find spatially similar wholemount patterns
Notes:
Images of both homozygote mutants (displaying LacZ expression) and wild-type controls are shown. The authors state that BAF180 ablation in the homozygous mutant does not affect the formation of PE and the migration of PE cells to cover the heart tube (at this stage i.e. E9.5), however it does impair the normal EMT (epithelial mesenchymal transition) of the epicardial cells for later coronary development. Image annotations: PE/arrows - proepicardium.

heart
detected detected
X-gal staining revealed broad expression in the heart tissues with abundant expression in PE (proepicardium) and epicardium.
Annotation Validation: EMAGE Editor
Detection Reagent
Type:in situ reporter
Entity Detected:Pbrm1, polybromo 1 ( MGI:1923998)
Notes:Pbrm1 (BAF180) was assayed in this study by Huang et al., 2008 [PMID:18508041] in embryos homozygous for a targeted mutation where a genomic fragment containing predicted exon 11 was replaced with an in frame beta-galactosidase-neomycin phosphotransferase fusion gene (beta-geo). A fusion protein is expressed under the contol of the endogenous gene promoter. The authors state that beta-galactosidase activity reflects the expression of endogenous BAF180.
