Expression pattern clarity: three stars
Find spatially similar wholemount expression patterns: Find spatially similar wholemount patterns
Notes:
Authors state that the apparent staining in the head is possibly due to reagent trapping. The wholemount stained embryo was sectioned using a vibratome to produce the sections shown. Image annotations: psm, presomitic mesoderm; I, II, IV, VI, XIV and XV indicate somites 29, 28, 26, 24, 16 and 15 respectively; m, myotome; dm, dermomyotome; sb, somitic bud; td, thoracic diaphragm. Black arrows indicate expression in dorsal myotome, red arrows indicate Myf5 expressing cells that are not obviously located in either the epaxial or hypaxial domains, arrowhead indicates cells from ventral myotome that will migrate into the limbs that do not express Myf5.

regional- Expression is detected in the dorsalmost dermomyotome. Expression is detected in the dorsal myotome (Fig 1.I) - Expression is strong in the dorsal myotome and weak in the ventral myotome (Fig 1.II). - Expression is strong in the ventral myotome and the somitic bud (Figs 1.IV, VI) - Expression is detected in the ventral myotome and hypaxial cells that will migrate to the thoracic diaphragm (Fig 1.XIV) - Expression is absent in the ventral myotome cells that will migrate to the limbs (Fig 1.XV)
