Notes:The probe used in this study by Casarosa et al., 1999 [PMID:9876181] is indicated as that described by Akazawa et al., 1992 [PMID:1400497] ie. a "cRNA (1057 nucleotides) corresponding to the ApaI fragment of pHES-5" . Elsewhere Akazawa et al also refer to a 988bp ApaI fragment. Restriction analysis of GenBank Hes5 sequence (eg. NM_010419.2) fails to find any ApaI fragments of either of these sizes.
