Image 2 is a schematic representation of the section shown in Image 1. Annotations: Te, telencephalon; Di, diencephalon; Mes, mesencephalon; Met, metencephalon; Rh, rhombencephalon. Data placement in this EMAGE entry was helped by the adjacent En2 stained section in the paper (Fig2B - right).

StructureLevelPatternNotes
central nervous system
detected detected
regionalExpression domains in 3 regions: (1) dorsal midline of neural tube, (2) ventral midline of mesencephalon and part of diencephalon, and (3) met-mesencephalic region. These data are not shown.
spinal cord
detected detected
regionalDorsal midline expression, from diencephalon to very caudal tip of spinal cord, with gap at cerebellar anlage (not shown).
hindbrain
detected detected
regionalDorsal midline expression, from diencephalon to very caudal tip of spinal cord, with gap at cerebellar anlage (not shown).
diencephalon
detected detected
regionalDorsal midline expression, from diencephalon to very caudal tip of spinal cord, with gap at cerebellar anlage. On ventral midline, sharp limit at caudal end (Wnt1-positive ring); rostral extension depends on developmental stage (not shown).
cerebellum primordium
detected detected
gradedExpression on edge of cerebellar anlage decreases rostrally and medially. Authors state that the midline of the cerebellar edge remains negative at least until E11.5. (not shown).
midbrain
detected detected
regionalOn ventral midline, sharp limit at caudal end (Wnt1-positive ring); rostral extension depends on developmental stage (not shown). Ring of positive cells rostral to met-mesencephalic constriction; groove on ventricular surface of neuroepithelium marks caudal edge of ring.

Entity Detected:Wnt1, wingless-related MMTV integration site 1 ( MGI:98953)
Notes:The Wnt1 probe used in this study by Bally-Cuif et al., 1992 [PMID:1360404] is described as "a 1879 bp HindIII-XbaI fragment of the Wnt1 cDNA (Fung et al., 1985 [PMID:3018519] )." Neither HindIII nor XbaI cut Fung's GenBank entry for Wnt1 (int-1) (M11943) although four HindIII sites (H) are indicated in Fig 3B of Fung et al., 1985.
